If I could ask Gregg one question, it would be: what was your defining moment your decision to get and stay sober. As someone who is just past a 100 days sober, I greatly admire Greggs 10 years on the wagon.

If anyone else cares to post their experience, that would be great.

First of all, congrats Charlie! I don't know if Gregory realizes just how many people he has positively influenced, not just musically but on a more personal level as well. The dramatic changes he has made in the last 10 years have pleased us so much. We are all so happy to see that he has found sobriety and finally peace and happiness with his lovely wife, Stacey. Many people I know, most of whom are regulars here at HTW, including myself, have taken this to heart and have taken the steps to kick our addictions too.

I'm very happy for Gregg that he has found peace in sobriety. I've seen him over a hundred times with the brothers and his solo projects.I know what it's like to be sober and at peace, and it's great. I'm 16 years sober. I want to share something about that. I always idolized Gregg because he could jam in the greatest band in the world and do all the drugs and booze that he wanted. That was when I was living that destructive life.My life is a million times better today. Anyway, a few months ago, I was going to see Gregg at the Sarasota Bluesfest I read in the paper that the next day was Gregg's 10 year sober anniversary. I told my friend Jen, she's 9 years sober and a very big fan also, and she got him a card. We put the 10 year medallion that I got for my 10th sober anniversary in the card. When the show was over, Gregg came out and was talking to and shaking hands with fans. jen was able to give him the card with my 10 year medallion in it. He was happy to get it. It's so cool that I was able to pass on my 10 year medallion to Gregg. I never would have imagined such a thing. I really didn't think either one of us would ever be sober. I'm so happy and grateful and thank God that I am sober and and am very happy for him too. Keep the peace Gregg bro.

charlie, hang in there (your post was from january, it is now october....how are you doing?)

the way gregg stays sober is going to be a lot different from the way YOU stay sober.

100 days is quite an acoomplishment.......but never forget, you are only one drink away from 0. my former sponsor just lost 15 years.........

you can make it work FOR YOU, using your way....not Greggs........all i have is today, and i will never go back to the way things where for me, not in a million years.

keep what works for you and leave the rest.

hope this message finds you well chas8486 sober has constantly changed for this beacon rat. I remember thinking about not being able to go to an allman bros. show because of what "goes on at the show",but the music called me back, thank god it did! Over 40 bro shows and a few of greggs shows later I've come round to the conclusion that its not where I am it's why I'm there. Oh by the way 6 going on 7 years sober and I lost those demons somewhere along the way, most likley when I stopped lookin so hard for em'
