you must admit gregg is the voice of the blues...but there are others...susan tedeschi for one .....this girl can croon with the best of them..johnny lang....is there an old blues man trapped inside his body or what? above all that... gregg has been around for a long time and will remain the true voice of modern blues...at least in my book...inou

(How many of these has Gregg mentioned as influences? How did I first hear of them?)

I can't get enough blues. Anybody remember Alvin Lee of Ten Years After?

Awesome blues singer and plays the guitar so dang fast! He's sick!

Jonny Lang is good, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Kenny Neal.

As usual, I can think of too many to list!

80 percent of the country music singers are all singing da blues. but if had a pick jus one blues singer it would have to be gregg. and thinkin back about all of the great great singers thats quite a statement.

Etta James, Koko Taylor, Bonnie Raiit, Bonnie Bramlett, Tracy Nelson, all great. Loved Bonnie R and Bonnie B singing background on Little Feat's Dixie Chicken, too. I still listen to that. lol Gregg Allman, Taj Mahal, Michael McDonald, Van Morrison, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Willie Dixon, the Blind Boys of Alabama (more gospel than blues), Walter Wolfman Washington, John Lee Hooker, Willie Pooch, heck, I love the blues. Going to see Gov't Mule in a couple of weeks, too.

If I had to name my favorite soul singers, I'd be here all day... I was way into Motown way back when. Still am.

sorry I keep double posting. I think I know why now. Anyway, I think Joss Stone is good, but that new producer she has now is changing her style. 'Mind Body & Soul CD is really good. I also love Johnny Lang.'Angel of Mercy' is something else!
